Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Northern New England is seeking a Regional Health Care Associate Support Specialist to backfill clinics across Manchester, Exeter, Derry, and the broader NH region. You’ll supervise HCAs, oversee venipuncture and vital signs, and ensure top-notch patient care while covering CTO, leaves, and vacancies.

Shifts include day/evening and some travel. The role emphasizes front-desk and clinical support, with training provided and a strong focus on customer service and patient

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in health care.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and patient satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting schedules and sites across NH.
  • Two to three years of health care and patient care experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel within the NH region and work across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor HCAs in venipuncture, injections, vital signs, patient intake, screening and informed consent, and document lab testing.
  • Assist patients with financial screening and determine eligibility for state-funded insurance programs.
  • Check patients in and out; verify charges and insurance billing as appropriate.
  • Be the EHR system subject matter expert, including templates and documentation standards.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms as needed.
  • May perform and mentor lab tests and ultrasonography after training and privileging.

LOCATION

Primary work site in Manchester, Exeter or Derry, NH. Covering the NH region, including Keene, NH.

HOURS

Full Time , 37.5 hours/week, Hourly (Non-Exempt)

POSITION PURPOSE

The Regional Health Care Associate (HCA) Support Specialist supports health centers by facilitating onsite training of new and tenured staff. The HCA Support Specialist also provides coverage for CTO, Leaves, Vacancies, Call outs. When supporting sites, the support specialist will serve as the first clinical point of contact for patients in our health centers and ensure outstanding customer service and patient satisfaction by collaborating with the team to provide high-quality patient centered care. Perform clinical support, front desk, and administrative functions in health centers.

This position is a flex position and will perform these duties across specified region(s) or health centers (including remote care team). Daily work location within the region will shift and be dependent on organizational needs. Day, evening, and occasional weekend shifts may be required to cover the open clinic hours and associated travel time.

YOUR DAY- TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accurately perform and mentor HCAs on a variety of medical services including but not limited to venipuncture, injections, and vital signs, patient intake, screening, education, and informed consent for all PPNNE services and documenting appropriate lab testing
  • Assist patients in financial screening, understand our fee schedule information, and assess eligibility for state funded insurance plans and/or other programs.
  • Check patients in and out, confirming all charges are accurate and insurance is billed, or charges processed, as appropriate
  • Subject matter expert in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, templates, and compliance with medical documentation practices.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms as needed.
  • May perform and mentor laboratory tests/procedures, specialized consenting, and/or ultrasonography after appropriate training and privileging process has been completed

COMPENSATION
  • Pay Range - The range of pay for this role begins at $25.71 per hour
  • Multilingual Skills: HCAs with proven Multilingual skills will receive a differential for each hour (or any portion thereof) where they provide interpretation services or Multilingual skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • High School Degree or Equivalent

  • Must have reliable transportation to facilitate working in all site locations within specified regions, possibly with limited notice
