Job summary

Gunvor USA LLC seeks a Regional Head of HSE to lead the governance and strategy for the US region, directing HSE programs across assets and coordinating with the Global team.

The role ensures compliance with US federal, state, and local standards in OSHA, EPA, and DOT, while supporting M&A due diligence and regional risk management. Strong leadership and crisis response are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years HSE or operations experience, preferably in Natural Gas, Power, or oil majors.
• Experience in upstream, downstream, refining or LNG operations.
• Fluent in English; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy regional HSE governance and strategy.
• Manage regional assets' HSE programs and asset-level coordination.
• Advise on organization and resources for HSE governance.
• Identify risks and establish controls (technical/organizational).
• Conduct relevant audits and incident reviews.
• Develop regional objectives and emergency management systems.
• Establish regional reporting mechanisms.
• Ensure US compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards.
• Support Mergers & Acquisitions through due diligence.
• Identify legal HSE requirements for regional assets and trading activities.

Job Title: Regional Head of HSE

Contract Type: Time

Role: The Regional Head of HSE will report to the Global Head of Ethics & Sustainability, supporting the Group’s strategy to expand its activities in the United States and Latam, including growing its asset base, bringing regional expertise and specifically knowledge of requirements in the United States. This role directs regional strategies to protect workers, assets, and the environment while maintaining strict legal compliance.

Main Responsibilities

• Work with the Global organization and deploy its governance and strategy for the region.
• Be in direct contact with all assets under the Group’s responsibility in the region and be responsible for the adaptation and implementation of the relevant Health, Safety and Environment management system, in coordination of HSE teams at asset level.
• Advise on organization and resources: structuring the HSE governance in the region, and implementing corporate procedures.
• Help identify risks and controls (technical and organizational).
• Carry out relevant audits.
• Develop regional objectives and review incident and emergency management systems.
• Develop the relevant reporting system.
• Specifically in the United States, ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local standards, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
• Provide support to Mergers & Acquisitions, organizing due diligence as required.
• Be responsible for the identification of legal requirements related to HSE applicable to the Company in the region, on assets but also on trading activities.

Education

University degree (e.engineering)

Experience

• 15+ years HSE or operational experience preferably in the Natural Gas and Power or with an oil major.
