Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Regional Giving Specialist in the Office of Advancement. You will develop and implement strategies to grow a regional giving program focused on alumni, parents/family, and friends, with emphasis on alumni engagement and mid-level gifts as part of the university’s comprehensive advancement plan.

You will report to the Sr Director of Development II for Central Advancement and work in a hybrid arrangement after the probationary period, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience required.

• Experience in alumni giving or mid-level fundraising is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive giving program focused on securing mid-level gifts ($5,000-$24,999) via alumni, parents, and friends.
• Execute outreach, cultivation, and solicitation visits and document outcomes in the CRM.
• Coordinate with advancement units to match prospects with appropriate officers and solicitations.
• Transition prospects to development officers for major gifts when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REGIONAL GIVING SPECIALIST

The University of Alabama at Birmingham

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Regional Giving Specialist in the Office of Advancement. This position will develop and implement strategies to ensure the success of a regional giving program with alumni, parents/family, and friends with an emphasis on alumni engagement and mid-level giving as an integral component of the University’s overall institutional advancement program. The Regional Giving Specialist will deliver strategic outreach efforts to alumni, parents/families of alumni and current students and friends of the University and work closely with other units to develop unique opportunities for engagement leading to targeted solicitations to benefit the University.

This position will report to the Sr Director of Development II for Central Advancement.

This position is hybrid-eligible after the probationary period.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Develop a comprehensive giving program focused on securing Mid-Level gifts ($5,000-$24,999) by maximizing relationships with alumni, parents and friends. Conduct outreach efforts and travel to make assessment and cultivation/solicitation visits to constituents and document the result of those discussions in relationship/database management system. Where appropriate, arrange for meetings between these constituents and University Leadership.
2. Implement best practices to engage alumni in lifelong progressive relationships with the University. Promote a comprehensive understanding of the University’s mission, goals and priorities and secure support for these initiatives.
3. Work with other members of the University Advancement Services staff to ensure that potential gift prospects are properly researched and assigned, that all solicitations are coordinated and completed, and that donors receive appropriate acknowledgements and recognition.
4. Where appropriate, transition prospects to the appropriate development officer for major gift cultivation and solicitation.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Pay Range

$47,665 – $60,000

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Travel is required for this position.
