Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Buffalo, NY seeks a Geotechnical Principal to provide top-level technical leadership across geotechnical projects, ensuring quality, performance, and strategic direction while mentoring staff.

You will act as final technical reviewer, oversee regional execution, drive business development and client relationships, and contribute to proposals, contracts, and major decisions.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license in the states where you work.
• 12+ years of related geotechnical experience with leadership capability.
• Proven track record in business development and revenue growth.
• Strong regional or multi-regional client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide final technical authority and oversight across geotechnical projects.
• Review and approve reports, calculations, and deliverables for accuracy.
• Ensure quality and consistency of technical outputs across teams.
• Guide strategic project performance and resolve high-risk issues.
• Mentor Associate Principals, Senior Project Managers, and leaders.
• Lead business development efforts and client relationship growth.
• Review proposals, contracts, and major project decisions.
• Contribute to regional financial performance and staffing decisions.
• Represent the firm as a technical expert and participate in leadership initiatives.
