GREAT LAKES

Region responsibility includes 6 locations in the Great Lakes: Clifford, MI; Findlay, OH; London, OH; Napoleon, OH; Owosso, MI; Wooster, OH

Headcount responsibility consists of 6 immediate Freight Manager direct reports, 50 to 60 drivers, and additional Freight office support with 214 tractor/trailer assets.

ADS is seeking a Regional Freight Manager (RFM) for our Great Lakes region, position is work remote and 75% travel within assigned territory and required Corporate meetings. The RFM is responsible for strategic oversight and day to day operations for a private fleet of a manufacturing organization. Through multiple Freight Manager direct reports and additional Freight staff, the incumbent is responsible for the regional safety and operational strategy that ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded. The incumbent will have an ability to build trust and gain credibility with a broad group of people throughout all levels of the organization including cross functionally with Safety, HR, Manufacturing, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Sales, etc.

The right person for this role is a dynamic leader who is personable and analytical, able to identify problems proactively and build business cases for resource requests effectively. This person will be innovative and forward thinking with a proven track record of strong leadership and influence management skills.

The day to aspects of this position includes managing the Freight function in a way that optimizes people and fleet resources to satisfy customers and accommodate business demands. RFM works with Freight teams on their delivery costs and on-time-in-full (OTIF) performance, providing suggestions as needed to ensure favorable safety, staffing and service quality to maintain our competitive position.

+ Bachelor’s Degree in transportation, logistics, business, or supply chain

+ 7 to 10 years in logistics leadership role with regional scope and multisite responsibilities

+ P&L experience with cost management and bottom-line thinking

+ Proficient business acumen with strong knowledge of industry trends

+ Strong knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations

+ Experienced in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft BI

+ Passion for developing people to achieve their highest potential and commitment for resolving employee concerns with care

+ Desire to contribute to building a growing Transportation organization with legacy methods that require change management and creative problem solving
