Job summary

Guardian Flight in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Regional Floating Flight Nurse to join our team of air transportation professionals. You will support, monitor and treat patients in critical care during flight, ensuring safety and comfort for both adult and pediatric patients.

This rotation is 10 days on / 20 days off, with company-paid crew housing on shift. We require RN licensure, emergency/critical care experience and multiple certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and CFRN.

Qualifications

• Three years of Emergency or Adult Critical Care nursing as an RN.
• Current RN license in states served by the assigned area.
• EMT Certification & Trauma Certification where required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status (NRP training provided during New Hire Training).
• Certified Registered Flight Nurse (CFRN) required within 24 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Flight Nurses will assess each situation to determine the best course of action to support, monitor and treat patients in critical care situations.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage the critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patient and support physicians’ orders.
• Take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well-stocked aircraft environment, maintains regular equipment and base checks, and complies with safety standards and briefings.
• Work collaboratively and effectively communicate in a professional manner with air and ground teams, dispatch, flight crews, facilities and partners.
• Share shift change info to transitioning team and follow protocols to maintain accurate company and regulatory documentation and records.
• Nurses are accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing training required for the position.
