Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking a Regional Fleet Manager to oversee a proactive maintenance program for diesel trucks, trailers and related equipment. The role is remote-based with up to 75% multi-state travel.

You will lead and develop Fleet Managers, monitor performance, control costs and ensure compliance across operations, while partnering with the Director of Operations to meet company needs. A strong background in fleet maintenance and leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in fleet maintenance management or equivalent operations.
• At least 10 years in automotive/diesel management roles.
• Experience expanding business in fleet environments.
• Prior technician/mechanic experience required.
• Familiar with light-heavy truck/trailer repair and maintenance.
• DOT regulations knowledge and compliance experience.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills and data analysis ability.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Operations to ensure operations and company needs are met.
• Lead, educate and develop your Fleet Managers.
• Monitor employee performance and be accessible to all areas of the shop.
• Provide support to the operations team regarding all equipment related issues.
• Monitor and analyze opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
• Perform payroll approval, scanner downloads, repair order maintenance and compliance documentation.
• Address corrective action regarding direct reports.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.

Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Regional Fleet Manager. The Regional Fleet Manager will oversee an aggressive preventative maintenance repair program, including the maintenance of large, medium, and light duty diesel trucks and trailers, and other equipment to ensure a safe and efficient fleet. Maintain business relationships with current and new accounts while ensuring a team of Fleet Managers have the tools to be successful.

This is a remote-based position and will involve up to 50-75% multi-state travel.

Salary range: $110,000-$130,000 plus annual performance-based bonus

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Operations to ensure operations and company's needs are met.
• Lead, educate and develop your Fleet Managers.
• Monitor employee's performance and be accessible to all areas of the shop.
• Provide support to the operations team regarding all equipment related issues.
• Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
• Perform administrative functions; including payroll approval, scanner downloads, repair order maintenance and compliance documentation.
• Address all corrective action regarding direct reports.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Must possess at least 10+ years' industry experience in fleet maintenance management or operations capacity within the auto/diesel industry
• Must possess 10+ years as a Manager within the automotive or diesel industry.
• Must have experience in expanding business in a fleet environment
• Prior technician/mechanic experience is required
• Must be familiar with light-heavy truck/trailer repair and maintenance
• ASE certifications are a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to travel as needed
• Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
• Thorough knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills
