Job summary

Samet Corporation, headquartered in Greensboro, NC, seeks a Regional Controller to serve as the financial backbone for regional operations. You will prepare monthly statements, analyze WIP and GL reconciliations, assist with forecasts, and support audits and budgeting across Raleigh, Greensboro, and Wilmington regions.

The role demands CPA-leaning credentials (preferred) and 3+ years in accounting within construction, with strong Excel skills and the ability to communicate complex numbers

Qualifications

• B.S. in Accounting is required.
• CPA license is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience focused on assurance services and construction clients, or 3-5 years in a similar accounting role in construction.
• Proficiency in Excel is required.
• Experience with construction software is preferred.
• Strong computer and software skills with the ability to learn new systems.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-player mindset with a customer-service approach to co-workers and subcontractors.
• A passion for collaborative improvement of work processes and standards.
• Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to explain complex numbers clearly to non-financial leaders.
• Executive presence and the ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple locations.
• Willingness to travel regularly to Raleigh and Wilmington regions.
• Eagerness to grow with Samet and take on increasing scope and responsibility over time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for each region supported.
• Prepare and analyze the regional WIP schedules.
• Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations.
• Assist with and analyze project forecasts.
• Attend monthly project reviews.
• Participate in regional and budget meetings in person, partnering with regional leadership on forecasts, variances, and budget priorities.
• Review and set up new contracts.
• Support month-end and year-end closing.
• Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
• Contribute to the annual budget process and track performance against budget throughout the year.
• Present financial results and insights to regional and executive leadership.
• Identify and drive improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting across regions.
• Partner with the corporate finance team to keep reporting and practices consistent company-wide.
• Support regional leadership on financial matters.
• Assist with special projects.
