Prosper Global seeks a Regional Finance Analyst to support donor reporting, budgeting, and financial operations for country programs worldwide.

The role collaborates with the Regional Finance Director and teams to ensure timely, accurate reporting and grant management in line with donor and Prosper Global policies.

The candidate will have strong communication skills and 5+ years in international nonprofit accounting.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of finance management experience.
  • 5+ years international accounting or non-profit accounting experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with ability to improve processes.
  • Experience with grants compliance and reporting (US Gov, EU, etc.).

Responsibilities

The International Finance (IF) Department plays a key role in supporting financial operations in Mercy Corps’ country programs throughout the world by working collaboratively with country finance staff and providing guidance in grant management, budgeting, accounting and other financial functions in accordance with internal policies and procedures as well as donor regulations. The IF Department ensures the timely , complete and accurate reporting of financial information from c ountry offices and is responsible for ensuring that all financial reporting requirements to donors are met in a timely and accurate way. The IF Department also works closely and collaboratively with the Headquarters (HQ), Award Management Team (AMT) in support of country program objectives as well as the HQ Corporate Finance department in support of agency financial functions. The position acts within the Regional Team for Africa .

Purpose / Project Description

The Regional Finance Analyst will work closely with the Regional Finance Director, Regional Finance Manager and other Regional Finance Analysts to prepare and review donor reports for submission and support country finance teams with donor audits. They will manage the donor cash flow management including ARDR and contribution award reconciliations . The Analyst will support the review of new proposal budgets and award closeout and support country teams with donor and Prosper Global policy/procedure compliance. The Regional Finance Analyst will recognize opportunities to innovate on current processes and create an environment where alternative viewpoints are shared and welcomed.

Consultant Objectives and Activities

AWARD FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTING

Prepare or review and submit donor reports and support with donor audits.

Assist with the completion of donor online system financial processes (USG PMS and other).

Responsible for donor accounts receivable/deferred revenue and contribution award reconciliations and support to payment management .

Prepare journal entries related to award-level reclasses or other entries needed from award reconciliations .

Support review of new proposal budgets.

Support country compliance with donor and MC financial policies and procedures.

Consultant Deliverables

The Consultant will:

Prepare or review and submit donor reports and audit reports .

Prepare journal entries related to award-level reclasses or other entries needed from award reconciliations .

Support program award closeouts , review of new proposal budgets, and other tasks as assigned.

Timeframe / Schedule

Full-time basis for October & November 2026, with possibility of extension.

The Consultant Will Report to

Mags Morrow, Senior Director – International Finance

The Consultant Will Work Closely With

Global Finance team, Regional Oversight Finance Team, Corporate Finance, Award Management Team, Grants and Compliance, Ethics, Country Finance teams

Required Experience and Skills

BA/S or equivalent in accounting or relevant field

5 + years finance management experience

5 + years international accounting experience or non-for-profit accounting experience

Ability to clearly communicate ideas both verbally and in writing

Detail oriented, with proven ability to identify process improvements

Strong k nowledge of rules and regulations governing the compliance /regulatory management of grants from US Government, European governments, and other agencies .

Demonstrated experience and skill with financial reporting preparation and presentation and the proven ability to translate technical financial data into informative reports.

Demonstrated experience and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, financial reporting, accounting systems, and budget development and administration is required

Experience with MS Office and accounting (general ledger) software

English fluency required ; additional fluency in French, Spanish and/or Arabic is highly beneficial
