Job summary

Cinépolis USA is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to join our maintenance team in Carlsbad, CA. You will perform routine inspections, repair HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and kitchen equipment, and coordinate with vendors to keep theaters running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of facility maintenance or technician experience.
  • General knowledge of HVAC, basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and kitchen equipment repair.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of HVAC, kitchen equipment, auditorium fixtures, and facility infrastructure.
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Complete basic repairs including drywall patching, painting, minor carpentry, and plumbing repairs.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs when on-site.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company standards for facility operations.
  • Assist with remodeling, facility upgrades, and equipment installations.
  • Ensure all maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation are accurately completed and submitted as required.
  • Provide support for emergency facility needs and assist with disaster preparedness efforts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace and storage areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying environmental conditions.

BASE PAY

$22.00 - $34.00

JOB DUTIES
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, auditorium fixtures, and facility infrastructure.
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete basic repairs including drywall patching, painting, minor carpentry, and plumbing repairs.
  • Minimal Projection and sound compliance standards
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs when on-site.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company standards for facility operations.
  • Assist with project work, including remodeling, facility upgrades, and equipment installations.
  • Ensure all maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation are accurately completed and submitted as required.
  • Provide support for emergency facility needs (e.g., leaks, power outages, HVAC failures) and assist with disaster preparedness efforts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace and storage areas.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evening, weekends, and holidays, and adapt to changing maintenance priorities.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks in varying environmental conditions.
  • Work closely with the General Manager, Regional Facilities Manager, and corporate teams to prioritize maintenance initiatives.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of facility maintenance or technician experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of HVAC, basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and kitchen equipment repair.
SKILLS
  • General knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, Ability to perform general carpentry, painting, and kitchen equipment maintenance, ensuring seamless facility operations.
  • Experience assisting with remodeling, facility upgrades, and equipment installation projects, maintaining brand standards, and operational excellence
  • Auditorium seating and service call system repair and replacement knowledge is a plus
  • Strong diagnostic abilities to assess, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and facility-related issues independently and efficiently.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA safety standards, facility codes, and company operational guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Skilled in conducting routine inspections, identifying potential issues early, and performing scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Capable of maintaining accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, repair documentation, and compliance records.
  • Ability to manage and liaise with third-party vendors for specialized repairs and projects while maintaining service quality and timelines.
  • Quick and effective response to facility emergencies such as HVAC failures, leaks, and power outages, minimizing disruption to guest experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with general managers, facilities managers, vendors, and corporate support teams.
  • Self-reliant Committed to providing exceptional service to internal customers and enhancing the guest experience through facility excellence.
  • Basic familiarity with building management systems (BMS), work order management software, and email communications for reporting and coordination.
