Job summary

Yugo is seeking a seasoned Area Maintenance Manager to lead preventative maintenance and safety initiatives across our student housing portfolio in the United States. You will mentor site teams, manage budgets, and implement best practices to maximize reliability and tenant satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in maintenance or operations within property management.
• Area or regional maintenance manager experience, student housing preferred.
• Execution of preventive maintenance plans.
• Knowledge of property management software (Entrata or similar).
• Minimum OSHA 10 certification or obtainable within 90 days.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, emergency preparedness, and environmental stewardship.
• Willingness to travel at least 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enhance preventive maintenance programs across properties.
• Promote safety culture and conduct safety education meetings.
• Monitor safe work practices and PPE compliance in the field.
• Coordinate emergency evacuation plans with local authorities.
• Coach and mentor maintenance supervisors and provide technical guidance.
• Manage maintenance-related budgets, capital projects, and third-party services.
• Travel to properties to oversee operations and quality.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and monitor service quality across regions.
• Inspect properties for cleaning, grounds, and inventory control per policy.
• Identify building defects and propose cost-conscious solutions.
• Provide leadership updates to Regional Manager on performance and risks.
