Essential Purpose

Support the overall success of the gyms in their designated Region, including safety, sanitation, efficiency, financial success, employee experience, and member satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions
  • Personnel Management and Leadership – Hire, teach, mentor, and lead District Equipment Technicians in person and remotely.
  • Communicate with Executive Leadership, Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, and Gym Operations personnel appropriately.
  • Outside Vendor Management – Identify, evaluate, establish, and maintain relationships with key outside vendors who will service our equipment.
  • Coordinate with external vendors that will complete repairs, parts, or equipment.
  • Provide support for projects as needed.
  • Expert in all functions of equipment and amenities.
  • Ensure management, completion, and closure of all OpenWrench tickets for the region.
  • Manage a clean and organized inventory for the region.
  • Complete required manufacturer certifications when available (may require out-of-state travel).
  • Ensure proper inventory and extra parts to ensure quick resolution and repairs.
  • Complete required equipment checklist and inspection upon all visits to gyms.
  • Mentor and lead District Equipment Technicians on managing local equipment service vendors.
  • Partner with RVPOs to ensure gym staff are trained on entering tickets properly.
  • Partner with RVP/RFMs to ensure all equipment in the region meets organization standards.
  • Support technicians with parts inventory and ordering and create creative solutions to avoid downtime.
  • Oversee and manage maintenance of company vehicle, maintaining a clean and organized inventory.
  • Address concerns on social media platforms related to facilities maintenance (e.g., Yelp reviews, member comments/inquiries).
Qualification Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of equipment management experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Leadership/Management experience.
  • 1‑2 years of vendor management experience.
  • Minimum of 1‑2 years of multi‑unit management; the Regional Maintenance Manager may oversee up to 25 locations depending on the market.
  • Technical skills in repair and maintenance of equipment and physical building.
  • General knowledge of HVAC and/or electrical equipment.
  • Understanding and commitment to all aspects of customer service.
  • High standards regarding equipment function, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with employees, management, and vendors, calm, professional, positive, and empathetic at all levels.
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills with people at all levels and functions.
  • Strong detail orientation; systematic and thorough approach to problem solving; good time management, organizational, and record‑keeping skills.
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel.

Technical Knowledge Requirements
  • Project coordination and scheduling.
  • Vendor evaluation abilities – evaluate bids, estimates, and invoicing.
  • Understanding of liability issues, general safety, and public injury requirements.
  • Financial – ability to interpret budgets and provide recommendations.
  • Administration – understanding of accounting/payroll functions and people management.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when identifying and assessing equipment maintenance needs.
  • Technology: computer literacy, extensive experience with CMMS systems and resource management.
  • Utilize software, financial software, and project management software.
Experience / Certifications / Educational / Requirements
  • OSHA Certified/Trained.
  • Bilingual – Spanish preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification required.
  • Must pass background check.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must maintain local, State, or Federal personal vehicle insurance minimums.
  • Must maintain a clean motor vehicle record throughout employment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from multiple job locations.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a gym office; move about gym floors and rooms; review, revise, create gym paperwork; communicate with employees, members, and the public.
  • Ability to access and operate the company computer system, including preparing documents, entering data, and reading reports.
  • Ability to routinely bend and lift more than 50 lbs.
  • Must be available for emergencies 24/7, including holidays, and assist as a first responder in case of environmental disaster.
  • Must assist in closing down a gym to meet legal, safety, risk, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to use commercial cleaning products and equipment such as vacuums, pressure washers, wet vacuums, compressed air, and cleaning chemicals.

Salary Pay Range: $75,000—$75,000 USD
