Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Vice President/Operations Manager to lead and expand environmental consulting operations from Duluth, GA, and Louisville, KY, serving clients across the Southeast. The role combines strategic leadership, business development, and operational oversight of EPA START contracts.

You will manage multi-site teams, drive growth, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high-quality projects while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 12 years in environmental consulting, federal contracting, and program management (CERCLA site investigations, emergency response, hazardous waste, regulatory compliance).
• Bachelor’s degree required in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of the Federal market sector, EPA START contracts, DOD programs, and remediation tech.
• Strong client relations and regulatory liaison experience with EPA/DOD/state agencies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for stakeholder engagements.
• Excellent business acumen (P&L, budgeting, forecasting, risk management).
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management for environmental consulting operations across the Southeast region.
• Lead project teams to meet milestones and deliverables with high quality.
• Collaborate with program management to implement EPA START contracts effectively and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify growth opportunities and pursue new contract opportunities with key stakeholders.
• Provide technical direction and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Engage in proposal development, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives.
• Ensure financial performance including P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Mentor and develop staff to build a strong team.
• Adhere to health and safety standards.
