Job summary

Barge Design Solutions is seeking a Regional Environmental Manager to lead and grow the Environmental & Natural Resources team across Florida and the Southeast. This senior role coordinates staffing on projects, ensures utilization and profitability, and reports to the ENR Director while fostering staff development and high-quality deliverables.

The candidate should have 10+ years in environmental permitting and technical writing, strong leadership, and travel readiness (25–50%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field; Master’s preferred.
• Five-plus years of staff management experience.
• Ten-plus years in technical writing and field efforts including environmental permitting and mitigation banking/restoration in Southeast.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team atmosphere with engineers, scientists, and admins.
• Light travel 25–50% is required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; background check.
• Employment contingent on background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide Senior level leadership and review; manage multiple staff across Southeast.
• Grow and support a multidisciplinary environmental team (permitting, wetlands, water quality, energy, DOT, coastal resiliency).
• Manage staff scheduling to meet billable rate goals.
• Mentor staff and promote high-quality deliverables and safety.
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory documents; provide final technical reviews.
• Manage local subcontractors and assist with proposals, scope and fees.
• Collaborate with project managers on client communication, budgets, schedules and quality.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop future staff; build client relationships.
