Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a Manager of Environmental Operations to oversee field compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations across multiple states. You will partner with internal teams and external agencies, lead environmental programs, and guide improvements while traveling up to 50%.

The role requires a strong background in environmental compliance, stakeholder engagement, and program management, with relocation support and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel within territory.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental fields or related discipline.
• Minimum five years of environmental compliance experience in regulated operations.
• Experience with environmental regulatory agencies and inspections.
• Strong communication and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance programs across assigned territory.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Legal and regulators.
• Represent BNSF to government agencies and communities.
• Oversee permits and programs for air, water, stormwater, and waste.
• Manage consultants, budgets, and compliance reporting systems.
• Provide environmental leadership and drive program improvements.
