Job summary

JLL is seeking a facilities operations leader to manage the Technical Services team, ensuring 100% uptime of building systems across HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life-safety. You will lead engineers, optimize maintenance programs, and coordinate改善 capital projects.

On-site operations in Jersey City, NJ, with focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and vendor collaboration. Strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Trades schooling in electrical systems design, refrigeration or HVAC preferred.
  • 2–5 years in building repair and maintenance, plumbing and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, lighting, generators, controls, cabling, digital systems, AV).
  • Supervise and develop engineering/maintenance staff (hiring, training, coaching, performance management).
  • Manage preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance programs for reliability and efficiency.
  • Identify and address safety hazards; implement safety training and compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with capital planning: infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, building modifications.
  • Coordinate major building projects from planning to closeout per industry standards.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, logs, drawings and system single-line diagrams.
  • Manage contractors and vendors ensuring quality, safety and compliance.
  • Monitor equipment performance and conduct inspections to ensure optimal operation.

What this job involves:

Responsible for the operational management, leadership, and administration of the Technical Services team to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of building systems and infrastructure. This role is focused on maintaining 100% uptime across engineering operations, protecting and enhancing client assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional service through effective team leadership and vendor management.


Your day-to-day tasks will include:


  • Overseeing the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, lighting, generators, controls, cabling, digital systems, and audio/visual services.


  • Supervising and developing engineering and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.


  • Managing preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance programs to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.


  • Identifying and addressing safety hazards while implementing and managing safety training programs and compliance initiatives.


  • Assisting with capital planning activities, including infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, and building modifications.


  • Coordinating and overseeing major building projects to ensure proper planning, execution, and closeout in accordance with industry standards.


  • Maintaining accurate infrastructure documentation, engineering logs, compliance records, building drawings, and system single-line diagrams.


  • Managing contractors and vendors to ensure quality work, competitive pricing, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with critical facility procedures.


  • Monitoring equipment performance, reviewing operational reports, conducting inspections, and ensuring all systems operate at optimal performance levels.



Desired experience and technical skills:


Requirements:


  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.


  • Two years of trades schooling in electrical systems design, refrigeration, or HVAC preferred.


  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in building repair and maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems.


  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and critical building systems.


  • Ability to analyze system operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, peers, and team members.


  • Demonstrated customer service and team leadership capabilities.



Preferred:


  • Experience managing critical environments and infrastructure systems.


  • Prior experience supervising engineering or maintenance teams.


  • Familiarity with CEWA (Critical Facility Work Authorization) or similar critical work authorization programs.


  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and capital improvement projects.


  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to building operations and safety.

Estimated compensation for this position:

134,200.00 - 194,500.00 USD per year


This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
