Job summary

National Audubon Society is seeking an Engagement Manager for the Mid-Atlantic region to lead chapter network engagement and expand the Audubon network’s influence across PA, MD, and DC.

The role supports federal and state policy priorities, recruits volunteers, and drives grassroots advocacy initiatives with regional staff and partners. Hybrid work is available with in-office days required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ relevant experience in grassroots network building, grassroots advocacy, public policy, wildlife conservation, public service, or related field.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate volunteers and partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communications; ability to explain complex conservation concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of strategies to build capacity within the Audubon chapter network, including program development and partnerships with high-capacity chapters.
• Build the collective capacity of Audubon’s chapters to engage with conservation programs, community science, and advocacy priorities.
• Collaborate with Policy Director to develop state policy platforms in MD and PA and engage chapter networks in advocacy.
