Job summary

National Audubon Society in the Mid-Atlantic region seeks an Engagement Manager to energize Audubon chapters and supporters across PA, MD, and DC. You will build partnerships, support policy priorities, and expand grassroots advocacy to advance bird conservation.

Reporting to the Policy Director, you will develop training, organize chapter meetings, and collaborate with national staff to amplify priorities and campaigns while nurturing diverse, inclusive networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ relevant experience in grassroots network building, public policy, or related field.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and advocacy skills; ability to motivate volunteers and partners.
• Proven ability to communicate complex conservation and policy concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience building coalitions and working across bipartisan and diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to grow Audubon’s chapter network.
• Collaborate with state policy and chapter teams to advance policy platforms.
• Recruit and train advocates and volunteers for regional campaigns.
• Organize chapter meetings and regional advocacy days.
• Coordinate communications with members via newsletters and social media.
• Support EDIB initiatives and diversity in leadership.
