Job summary

KY Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) is seeking a Regional EMS Inspector to oversee licensing inspections and provide technical assistance to local agencies across Kentucky. The role requires regulatory interpretation, strong communications, and regional training coordination.

The ideal candidate has EMS field experience, knowledge of statutes and regulations, and the ability to communicate with licensees, the public, board members, and legal staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a college or university is required.
• Three years of experience in emergency medical services, inspection, or investigative work.
• Master's or additional experience can substitute for education or vice versa as described in the ad.

Responsibilities

• Conducts inspections related to the licensing of EMS providers as required by state regulations.
• Provides technical and consultative assistance to local agencies, officials, and personnel related to EMS operations and licensing.
• Assesses continuing education quality and training programs in the assigned region; helps plan and implement required EMS training.
• Provides technical assistance to nominees for the state grant fund program.
• Attend district and regional meetings; serve as liaison between EMS providers and KBEMS; carry out directives of KBEMS.
• Performs other administrative duties as necessary.
