Special Programs

Position Overview

The Emergent Bilingual (EB) Coach, in collaboration with the national English Learner team, will oversee their regional portfolio of schools to ensure high-quality instruction for EB students and compliance support. Responsibilities include coaching teachers and leaders during classroom support, conducting observations and walkthroughs, providing professional development, data analysis, lesson plan feedback, and ensuring campuses meet 100% EB compliance with all state and federal requirements. (This position is partially grant-funded and requires daily activity tracking.)

Location:

This is a full-time position located in the Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa). Preference will be given to candidates residing in the region or willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

Travel throughout the region.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
Essential Duties
  1. Support and assist classroom teachers and campus leaders in implementing integrated and designated English Language Development (ELD).
  2. Conduct classroom observations focused on language development and provide coaching with clear next steps.
  3. Provide on-site staff development on data-driven learning and effective instructional strategies related to ELD.
  4. Support building interactive classrooms aligned with curriculum and learning strategies.
  5. Demonstrate and model lessons to ensure advanced delivery of integrated and designated ELD.
  6. Identify instructional strategies and interventions to improve achievement for all students, including English Learners and students with diverse needs.
  7. Participate in regional and campus meetings to analyze assessment data and improve English learner achievement.
  8. Review assessment data with regional leaders and campus principals to evaluate EL achievement goals.
  9. Support campus EL coordinators in student reclassification processes.
  10. Maintain EB documentation at the campus level using Ellevation.
  11. Assist with mock TELPAS and TELPAS assessments.
A Week in the Life:
20 hours*Campus support (observations, coaching, PDs) with clear next steps.
4 hours*Data review and preparation for campus visits.
1.5 hours*EB tactical & instructional support meetings.
2.5 hours*Tasks like PD prep, updating trackers, follow-ups.
8 hoursEB compliance work/support.
1-4 hoursRegion-specific activities (check-ins, celebrations, etc.).

*Time under Title 3 grant.

Required Experience
  • Bilingual or ESL Certification required
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • 1-3 years teaching EB students
  • Proficient in Office 365
  • 3+ years of experience preferred
Required Skills
  • Design and deliver professional development on EB programs (SIOP, LPAC, etc.)
  • Impact effective systems and increase capacity for student achievement
  • Coordinate with regional and campus teams on EB priorities
  • Coach and develop campus leaders and teachers following the coaching cycle
  • Complete Time & Effort documentation for funding
What We Offer

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary typically ranges from $78,900 to $92,000, based on experience and qualifications, with potential performance pay. Benefits include health plans, disability, life insurance, parental benefits, flexible spending, vacation, referral bonuses, professional development, and a 403(b) plan.
