Drax Group in Monroe, LA is seeking a Regional Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering support for electrical infrastructure across five manufacturing facilities.

In this regional role, you’ll serve as the SME for industrial power systems—driving safety, reliability, asset performance, and long‑term infrastructure capability while coordinating with plant engineering, maintenance, operations, automation and capital projects teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing electrical systems experience.
  • Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution.
  • Experience with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, substations, motors, protection systems.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, OSHA requirements, and electrical safety practices.
  • Willingness to travel among five operating facilities and provide occasional outage/on-call support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical reliability and lifecycle strategies for critical assets.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical failures, outages, power-quality issues, and recurring equipment problems.
  • Support compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEEE, and electrical safety requirements.
  • Support arc-flash, short-circuit, protective-device coordination, grounding, and other electrical system studies.
  • Provide technical oversight for medium- and low-voltage system designs and modifications.
  • Support capital projects from scope development and design reviews through commissioning and startup.
  • Assess plant electrical capacity, infrastructure constraints, obsolescence risks, and future upgrade requirements.
  • Review electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, three-phase distribution drawings, and motor schematics.
  • Develop and standardize electrical engineering practices across multiple facilities.
  • Coach plant electricians, technicians, and maintenance teams while sharing best practices across the region.
  • Willingness to travel among five facilities and provide outage/on-call support.

Location: Monroe, Louisiana
Travel: Approximately 33% across five Southern Region manufacturing facilities

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Regional Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering support for electrical infrastructure across five manufacturing facilities.

In this highly visible regional role, you’ll serve as a subject‑matter expert for industrial electrical power systems—helping improve safety, reliability, asset performance, and long‑term infrastructure capability. You’ll partner with plant engineering, maintenance, operations, automation and controls, and capital project teams while providing hands‑on support for complex electrical challenges.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead electrical reliability and lifecycle strategies for critical assets.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical failures, outages, power-quality issues, and recurring equipment problems.
  • Support compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEEE, and applicable electrical safety requirements.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing electrical systems experience.
  • Strong knowledge of medium‑and‑low‑voltage power distribution.
  • Experience with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, substations, motors, protection systems, and electrical distribution.
  • Knowledge of electrical studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, and grounding.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, OSHA requirements, and electrical safety practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical equipment and system failures.
  • Experience supporting capital projects through commissioning.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel among five operating facilities and provide occasional outage/on‑call support.
Preferred
  • Experience with 2 kV–35 kV medium‑voltage systems.
  • Electrical reliability or asset‑management experience.
  • Protection and relay systems experience.
  • Power monitoring and power‑quality experience.
  • Experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar engineering software.
  • Experience with major industrial infrastructure projects, plant expansions, or multi‑site engineering initiatives.
