Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, seeks a Regional EHS Manager to support 2–4 facilities in the region, travel 60–75% across the assigned geographic area. This role leads EHS programs and drives safety excellence across multiple sites.

The role partners with operations leadership to build a proactive safety culture, implement corporate EHS standards, and ensure regulatory compliance during growth, acquisitions, and startups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Experience leading Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) prevention initiatives and risk management programs.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience leading incident investigations utilizing root cause analysis methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic EHS leadership to 2–4 facilities within the region.

• Partner with Plant Managers to develop local ownership and accountability for EHS performance.
• Support integration of newly acquired or startup facilities into corporate EHS programs and culture.

• Conduct region-wide audits, risk assessments, and corrective action management processes.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/local regulations.

Education

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary is searching for a Regional Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to support 2–4 manufacturing facilities within an assigned geographic region. The Regional EHS Manager provides strategic EHS leadership and operational support while serving as a key resource for the successful integration of newly acquired or startup facilities. The Manager will partner with regional operations leadership to build a proactive safety culture, strengthen operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive consistent implementation of corporate EHS standards. This position requires significant travel, approximately 60–75%, to provide field coaching, assessments, leadership development, and operational support across assigned facilities.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide strategic EHS leadership and support to 2–4 manufacturing facilities within an assigned region
• Lead the implementation, standardization, and continuous improvement of corporate EHS management systems across assigned facilities
• Partner with Plant Managers and Operations Leadership to develop local ownership and accountability for EHS performance
• Support the successful integration of newly acquired or startup facilities into corporate EHS programs, standards, and culture
• Drive Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) prevention initiatives by identifying, controlling, and verifying high-energy hazards
• Implement and sustain Critical Control Verification (CCV), Fatality & Life-Changing Event Prevention (Life Savers), and other corporate critical risk programs
• Conduct SIF potential incident reviews and ensure investigations identify systemic causes and sustainable corrective actions
• Lead regional audits, risk assessments, inspections, and corrective action management processes
• Evaluate compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations
• Analyze incident trends and leading indicators to identify emerging risks and recommend proactive mitigation strategies
• Support equipment risk assessments, machine safeguarding improvements, lockout/tagout effectiveness, and operational risk reduction initiatives
• Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations to implement sustainable risk reduction and engineered safety improvements
• Coach supervisors and managers on safety leadership, risk recognition, accountability, employee engagement, and critical risk management
• Deliver regional leadership development focused on SIF prevention, Human & Organizational Performance (HOP), critical risk management, and employee engagement
• Support standardized onboarding, contractor orientation, and recurring regulatory training programs
• Facilitate regional safety workshops, leadership meetings, and continuous improvement events
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, agency interactions, and corporate reporting requirements
• Ensure incident investigations are completed on time, root causes are identified, corrective actions are implemented, and organizational learning is communicated throughout the region
• Support Workers’ Compensation management, occupational health programs, industrial hygiene, emergency preparedness, and business continuity initiatives
• Support Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives including waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and sustainability projects
• Travel 60–75% throughout the assigned geographic region to provide on-site coaching, assessments, project support, and leadership development

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, utilities, or industrial operations
• Experience leading Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) prevention initiatives and critical risk management programs
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Proven experience leading incident investigations utilizing root cause analysis methodologies
• Ability to travel 60–75% throughout the assigned region
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent professional certification preferred
• Experience implementing Human & Organizational Performance (HOP), SIF prevention programs, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Lean Manufacturing, or Operational Excellence systems preferred
