Placements24 is seeking a Regional Distribution and Logistics Manager to lead Northern Cape operations from the Upington hub. You will oversee warehousing, fleet, inventory, and route optimization across a vast region, driving efficiency and cost savings while ensuring regulatory compliance and service levels.

The role requires 5–7 years of regional logistics experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with LMS/WMS and MS Office. Travel within Upington and broader Northern Cape is expected.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution management, including regional ops.
• Experience managing logistics in large or remote geographical areas, ideally in Northern Cape.
• Strong knowledge of warehousing, inventory management, fleet management, and route optimization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Leadership and supplier management capabilities.

About the Role

Our client, a national provider of specialized industrial equipment, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Regional Distribution and Logistics Manager to lead their operations in the Northern Cape , with a key hub located in Upington . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of equipment and parts to clients across a vast geographical area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing regional warehousing, fleet operations, inventory control, and optimizing delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional to take charge of significant regional operations and contribute to the company's growth in this important market. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all regional distribution and logistics activities for the Northern Cape , based out of the Upington hub.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehousing, inventory management, and transportation processes across the region.
• Manage the regional fleet, ensuring vehicle maintenance, driver scheduling, and compliance with all road safety regulations.
• Implement effective inventory control measures to ensure accuracy, minimize stockouts, and optimize stock levels for equipment and parts.
• Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective service to clients throughout the Northern Cape.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and suppliers, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics and distribution operations, implementing improvements as needed.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless coordination and meet client delivery requirements.
• Manage the regional logistics budget, controlling expenditures and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and regional transportation and warehousing regulations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution management, with a focus on regional operations.
• Proven experience managing logistics operations in large or remote geographical areas, ideally within the Northern Cape province.
• Strong knowledge of warehousing, inventory management, fleet management, and route optimization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software, including logistics management systems (LMS), WMS, and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel within the Upington and wider Northern Cape region.
