About the Role

Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is seeking an experienced Distribution Network Manager to lead and optimize their logistics and distribution operations in the Upington, Northern Cape region. This management position is responsible for overseeing the efficient flow of goods, managing warehousing and transportation, and ensuring customer satisfaction through reliable delivery services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in logistics management, supply chain optimization, and team leadership within a distribution environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's distribution network, driving efficiency, and managing costs effectively. This is a key opportunity to manage significant operations in the Northern Cape and contribute to our client's supply chain success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the regional distribution network, including warehousing, inventory management, and transportation.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the distribution network for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and speed.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, ensuring service level agreements are met.
• Supervise warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics and warehouse staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to distribution efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and operations teams to align distribution activities with business needs.
• Manage budgets for the distribution network and control operational expenses.
• Identify and mitigate risks within the distribution supply chain.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution management.
• Proven track record in optimizing distribution networks and managing transportation and warehouse operations.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, order fulfillment, and supply chain best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other logistics software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working in the Upington area or the broader Northern Cape region is highly desirable.
