Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Director of Wound Care to lead clinical and operational aspects of the wound care service line across Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Kansas and other partnered facilities. You will own advanced wound procedures, set clinical protocols, mentor the wound care team, and drive KPI performance.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP license in KY, WV, or OH; multi-state licensure preferred.
• Board certification in Wound Care (WCC/CWCN/CWS or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of clinical wound care experience with debridement and graft procedures.
• Minimum 2–3 years in a clinical leadership, supervisory, or program management role.
• Experience delivering wound care in skilled nursing, assisted living, or long-term care settings.
• Working knowledge of CMS documentation and billing requirements for debridement and grafts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clinical competency and direct oversight of advanced wound care procedures.
• Establish and maintain clinical protocols for wound assessment, treatment planning, and escalation.
• Ensure diagnostic workup is ordered (labs, imaging, cultures) as indicated.
• Manage comorbidities impacting healing in coordination with other clinicians.
• Provide clinical mentorship and case oversight to wound care NPs.
• Ensure documentation supports medical necessity and billing compliance.
• Own strategic direction of the Wound Care service line and growth initiatives.
• Lead initiatives from concept to protocol implementation and partnerships.
• Represent Wound Care in quarterly business reviews and KPI reporting.
• Partner with Telehealth, CCM, and Primary Care leadership for integration.
