Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking a Regional Manager of Spiritual Health to lead the transition to a standardized chaplaincy model across the region. You will oversee Catholic chapels, sacristies, scheduling, and training of Ministers of Holy Communion while guiding devotional arrangements in nursing facilities.

The role requires strong leadership, pastoral care skills, and collaboration with local clergy and hospital leadership to align with Avera's mission and ethical directives.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform essential job functions with adequate vision and communication.
• Able to communicate effectively with others and participate in on-call rotation.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to directives and standards.

Responsibilities

• Establishes annual goals aligned with mission, vision and values.
• Develops and manages the department budget within guidelines.
• Provides chaplaincy support and education to staff and volunteers.
• Participates in leadership meetings and committees as assigned.
• Maintains chaplaincy program including recruitment and training.
• Provides pastoral care to patients, residents and families; participates in on-call rotation.
• Develops relationships with local clergy and community groups.
• Facilitates crisis debriefings for colleagues.
• Ensures compliance with Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.
• Oversees hiring, development and performance of chaplaincy staff.
