Position Purpose

The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) oversees all operational activities for assigned practices, including P&L management, process improvement, and team engagement. The RDO acts as a critical link between individual practices and Heartland's overall operations, with the primary goal of enhancing the lives of veterinarians and ensuring supportive practices. The ideal candidate will be based in IL, WI, IA, or MN, and this is a full-time remote position.

Essential Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, manage costs, and implement efficiencies in a growing multi-location veterinary organization.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with practices, preserving their local identity and culture while providing operational support.
• Manage P&L, develop strategies to meet financial targets, and motivate practice teams.
• Support growth initiatives and integration of new practices.
• Evaluate and coach practice managers for optimal performance.
• Enhance team productivity, collaboration, and engagement through coaching and tools.
• Focus on improving veterinarians' experiences and practice success.
• Communicate operational messages effectively across the organization.

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years in a multi-site operations role
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• Experience in veterinary, medical, dental, or similar multi-site industry
• Proven team management success
• Previous P&L and budget management experience
• Willingness to travel up to 75%
