Position Purpose

The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) leads all operational activities for assigned practices, including P&L management, process improvement, and team engagement. The RDO acts as a critical link between practices and Heartland's overall operations, focusing on improving veterinarians' lives. The preferred location is IL, WI, IA, or MN. This is a full-time remote position.

Essential Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, manage costs, and implement efficiencies across multiple locations.
• Build strong relationships with practices, preserving their local identity while providing operational support.
• Manage P&L, develop strategies for financial targets, and motivate practice teams.
• Support growth initiatives and the integration of new practices.
• Evaluate and coach practice managers for optimal performance.
• Enhance practice team productivity and engagement through coaching and tools.
• Develop strategies to improve the lives of veterinarians and practice staff.
• Communicate operational messages effectively across the organization.

Requirements/Qualifications

• 3+ years in multi-site operations
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Experience in veterinary, medical, dental, or physician-focused multi-site industries
• Team management experience
• P&L and budget management experience
• Willingness to travel up to 75%
