Job summary

Gardant seeks a Regional Director of Ancillary Services to oversee culinary and facilities operations across Gardant Communities. You will train staff, monitor maintenance programs, and ensure regulatory compliance while managing budgets and vendor relationships.

Collaboration with Culinary Directors and a Dietician ensures high-quality dining and healthy outcomes. You will also support onboarding, start-ups, and safety programs, travel between communities, and maintain robust communication with

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of multi-site management in culinary and/or facilities management.
  • Solid knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations for dietary services, maintenance, utilities, and housekeeping.
  • Food sanitation course completed.
  • Strong budgeting, general accounting, and fiscal management across multiple communities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication with diverse audiences and ability to interpret regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides training and in-services at community locations to enhance facilities and culinary programs.
  • Oversees preventative maintenance programs across assigned communities.
  • Reviews TELS system for compliance and follow-through.
  • Manages budgets and monitors variances at each community.
  • Oversees and approves weekly food service orders and vendor supply purchasing.
  • Collaborates with Culinary Directors on menus and inventory control.
  • Assists with interviewing and onboarding community Culinary Directors.
  • Coordinates with Registered Dietician to ensure nutritional adequacy and therapeutic diets.
  • Monitors fire and disaster drills in accordance with policies.
  • Supports start-ups and liaises with VP of Construction during new communities.
  • Promotes a safe working environment across all sites.

Job description

Gardant is seeking a Regional Director of Ancillary Services to oversee and support culinary and facilities/maintenance operations across assigned Gardant Communities. This role ensures communities maintain safe, well-functioning physical plants and deliver high-quality dining experiences in compliance with all applicable regulations.Responsibilities:Provides training and in-services at community locations to enhance the quality and upkeep of both facilities and culinary programsHelps establish and monitor effective preventative maintenance programs across all assigned communitiesReviews and oversees the TELS System for assigned communities to ensure compliance and follow-throughAssists in ensuring all routine maintenance, menus, and standardized recipes are consistently followedFills in at communities during position vacancies or director absences in both maintenance and culinary capacitiesReviews budget reports at each community to monitor compliance and address variancesManages and approves weekly community food service orders and monitors supply ordering from approved vendorsWorks with Culinary Directors to teach and implement menu and inventory programsAssists with interviewing and onboarding community Culinary DirectorsConsults with the Registered Dietician on a quarterly basis and as needed to ensure nutritional adequacy and therapeutic diet complianceReviews and oversees completion of fire and disaster drills in accordance with facility policiesContinuously evaluates new methods, products, and procedures to upgrade service standards across communitiesConsults with the VP of Construction as needed during new community start-ups, and assists with FF&EPromotes and maintains a safe working environment in adherence to facility safety programs at all timesQualifications:Minimum of 5 years of multi-site management experience in culinary and/or facilities management, preferably in Assisted Living or Senior Living CommunitiesSuccessful completion of a food sanitation course requiredMust possess working knowledge and ability to perform the duties of a Director of Maintenance, Culinary Director, and related positionsStrong knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations pertaining to dietary services, maintenance, utilities, and housekeepingSolid budgeting, general accounting, and fiscal management experience across multiple communitiesExcellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences, negotiate conflicts, and interpret government regulationsProficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as TELS and DSSI ordering platformsAbility to prioritize multiple competing responsibilities on any given day, often under pressureValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company insurance requirementsBenefits:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefit packagesEmployee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP)Employer-subsidized Gym Membership & Wellness ProgramEAP & Maven family planning program401(k) with biweekly employer matchOutside-In Employee Referral ProgramIntentional work-life balance supported with competitive Paid Time OffSelf-service payroll & tools (PayCom)
