Job summary

Friedman Real Estate is seeking a Director of Multifamily Real Estate to lead a multi-state portfolio across Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. The role requires directing Regional Managers and Community Managers, driving operating performance, and ensuring compliance with housing laws.

You will oversee budgets, forecasts, and owner reporting while collaborating with ownership groups, lenders, and internal teams to optimize NOI and portfolio value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Real Estate, Property Management, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum five years of multi-site residential property management experience with regional leadership.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and operational performance management skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25% in the region.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Regional Managers and Community Manager, setting expectations and accountability standards.
• Oversee multi-state portfolio operations to meet ownership objectives, occupancy goals, resident satisfaction, and policies.
• Provide strategic oversight of budgets, forecasts, and operating metrics to maximize NOI.
• Present portfolio updates and strategic recommendations to owners, lenders, and senior leadership.
• Identify portfolio trends and lead initiatives to improve operational, financial, and resident experience outcomes.
