Director II - Under the general direction of the Director of Facilities, administers and directs programs for a geographic area designated by Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Serves as Regional Director in the geographic area, employs appropriate organizational and management skills to carry out policies, procedures, and standards. Accountable for the quality of management employed in carrying out this mission. Performs complex managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning for both the financial and business divisions of the regional RAS team. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. Manages all aspects of the budget, including budget requests, monitoring of budget, allocation, and expenditures of funds. Develops and maintains working relationships with internal leaders, community leaders, advisory groups, advocacy groups, and elected officials including county judges and state legislators. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
