Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Radiology Technologist to ensure correct patient identification, apply ALARA principles, and support safe, timely imaging across departments. The role includes assisting with fluoroscopic procedures, managing postoperative imaging, and teaching/mentoring students and staff in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include image evaluation, data transfer, and adherence to hospital policies while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• ARRT-R registry must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Must complete level 2 within 24 months.
• Ability to work in operating rooms and ICU imaging as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct patient identification and proper preparation for exams.
• Use imaging protocols and ALARA principles to maximize safety.
• Prepare/administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
• Evaluate image quality and verify data archiving/transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
• Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and radiologic procedures.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed, including OR/Endoscopy/ICU.
• Work in clinical environment and comply with policies.
