Job summary

Havertys Furniture seeks an experienced Delivery Area Manager to oversee Furniture Delivery Driver teams in your area. The role focuses on performance, staffing, training, and service levels for the delivery area, with daily communication with team members and resolution of delivery issues.

The position offers a base salary of $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience and requires travel up to 50% of the time; DOT certification is required for the role.

Qualifications

• DOT Certification is required for the position (must pass DOT physical/drug test and obtain DOT Card).
• Travel required up to 50% of the time depending on multiple factors.
• Ability to work with different levels of management (Distribution, Store and Profit Center).
• Outstanding communication skills (oral and written).
• Excellent interpersonal skills; self-motivated, detailed and results driven.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and handle problems under tight time constraints.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new software as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of delivery teams and lead all Driver selection, performance management and coaching.
• Monitor capacity, budget, overtime, fuel purchases, truck maintenance and repairs.
• Plan and schedule delivery/ service work with Store Manager; coordinate bi-weekly meetings.
• Maintain DOT files, attendance records, reports and worker compensation claims; track hours and vacations.
