Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Regional Design Manager to join its design team. You will lead project teams across Americas to deliver data center designs on schedule and below cost targets while ensuring quality and safety.

This role requires navigating complex stakeholder landscapes and travel up to 25% for site visits and meetings. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in engineering of mission-critical facilities, a relevant engineering degree, and experience in lifecycle design from

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation or oil and gas)
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Experience in project management or management consulting handling multiple ongoing projects
• Experience in life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams of discipline leads to deliver quality and globally consistent data center designs across Americas within schedule and cost constraints
• Influence internal stakeholders and external consultants to address program-wide design changes
• Manage escalations from the design team and collaborate with procurement, construction and external consultants
• Communicate with AWS leadership and project partners, tracking schedule, cost, and quality metrics
• Identify innovative solutions to reduce contract changes while maintaining quality and reliability
• Drive speed, quality, and simplification by eliminating rework and standardizing processes
• Create global best practice documentation and facilitate sharing across the globe
• Mentor team to achieve high quality in a fast-growth, deadline-driven environment
• Travel for site assessments and meetings; anticipated travel up to 25% (international travel may be needed)
