Job summary

The Crisis Services Specialist in Region 6 will support individuals with behavioral health challenges and providers by ensuring access to high-quality care and timely transitions through the state-funded crisis system. This role requires strong collaboration with GCAL, mobile crisis teams, hospitals, law enforcement, and crisis centers.

Based in Columbus, GA with a hybrid work arrangement (2 days in the office) and travel up to 40% across 31 counties, the position emphasizes coordination,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of professional job-related experience, including one year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role.
• Independent license (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) preferred.
• Knowledge of behavioral health and developmental disability service design models.
• Training and consultation experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regional crisis system and individuals in crisis, coordinating with GCAL, mobile crisis, law enforcement, hospitals, BHCCs, CSUs, SCBs, state hospitals and IDD crisis homes.
• Monitor CSU/BHCC/SCB reviews for placement and ensure quality discharge planning to reduce readmission.
• Identify and resolve bed and service access issues with providers and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with community hospitals and regional IDD/CD services.
• Coordinate and participate in regional crisis collaboration meetings and statewide meetings.
