Job summary

Busey is seeking a Regional Credit Officer to lead underwriting, portfolio management, and risk control for designated markets. You will guide a team of Commercial Credit Officers, Underwriters and Analysts to ensure timely decisions and strong borrower relationships.

The role requires 10+ years in Commercial Credit with 5+ years in leadership, plus a Bachelor’s in Business or Finance and strong MS Office skills. Based in Illinois, the position offers a competitive Total Rewards package.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business or Finance
• Requires 10+ years of Commercial Credit experience with prior single signature approval authority
• Requires 5+ years experience in a progressive management/leadership role
• Requires 5+ years of prior experience with middle market-sized businesses with loan relationships of $10-$100 million
• Requires proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Commercial Credit Officers, Underwriters and Analysts.
• Ensure timely underwriting via team communication and leadership.
• Assess risk using cash flow, liquidity, profitability, and leverage.
• Review loan grades for policy alignment and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with portfolio management, covenants, and reviews.
• Assist Relationship Managers with structuring loan opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of loan policy and lending technology platform.
• Participate in pipeline and renewal meetings.
• Assist in sales calls with Relationship Managers.
• Approve loans within authority; recommend loans above limits.
