Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison) in Respiratory - COPD.

This role engages in bidirectional scientific exchange with national and regional SLs, supports investigator-initiated studies, and aligns with GMSA strategy and SOPs across approved and in-development trials. The candidate will travel up to 50% within the Chicago region and nearby states, possess a terminal degree, and have at least 3 years of

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Deep knowledge of COPD/Respiratory and scientific exchange.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and industry guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs for access to scientific information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Keeps current knowledge of dynamic scientific environment in the AOI for the therapeutic area.
• Engages in scientific congresses and medical meetings to exchange data.
