Job summary

Merck seeks a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Respiratory - COPD to drive strategic operating priorities. The role liaises between scientific communities and the company to enhance understanding of scientific goals for approved, in-development, and active trials, serving as a role model for field medical teams.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD-level clinical or scientific education in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of COPD/Respiratory experience beyond the terminal degree program.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
• Ability to conduct high-level doctoral discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of FDA, HIPAA, and other regulatory guidelines in pharma.
• Ability to organize and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to share approved medical information on COPD/respiratory topics and Company products.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a reliable medical contact within the company for SLs.
• Addresses scientific questions and routes outside-scope inquiries to appropriate resources per policies.
• Maintains current knowledge of the scientific environment in the therapeutic AOI.
