Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Regional Construction Manager to lead ground infrastructure builds across the East Coast. You will manage end-to-end construction, contracting, design reviews with engineering, and ensure on-time delivery while coordinating with Real Estate, Legal, and Operations teams.

The role requires travel 75%+ with frequent coordination with city staff, AHJs, and external vendors to advance Zipline’s drone delivery network in the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years in real estate development or construction.
  • Experience obtaining entitlements and permits with customers’ Real Estate teams.
  • Strong communication to align stakeholders and provide updates.
  • 4+ years collaborating with external design teams (Architectural, Civil, MEP).
  • Familiarity with AHJs to navigate permitting.
  • Experience with Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Willingness to travel 75%+ regionally and nationally.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects, site infrastructure, and real estate development contracts.
  • Lead pre-construction strategies to streamline permits.
  • Build relationships with City Managers and inspectors to secure approvals.
  • Collaborate with Legal to navigate regulatory landscapes for drone delivery.
  • Coordinate with Real Estate teams to integrate Zipline systems.
  • Source and manage external stakeholders, including utilities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks across pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Engage with partners' teams to align on timelines and expectations.
  • Oversee general contractors and subs across trades during bid to commissioning.
