Regional Construction Lead - Drone Delivery Infrastructure

Job summary

Zipline is hiring a Regional Construction Manager to own end-to-end ground infrastructure deployment in the region. You’ll lead contractor evaluation, contracting, design review with engineers, and full scope site construction management towards timely project completion in collaboration with Service Operations and Superintendent teams.

You’ll steer negotiations, manage external vendors, and ensure timelines while aligning with Zipline’s strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 6+ years of experience in real estate development or construction.
• Proven ability to manage entitlements and permits for infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication skills with ability to align internal stakeholders and provide leadership.
• 4+ years of experience working with external design teams (Architectural, Structural, Civil, MEPs).
• Familiarity with working with AHJs to navigate permitting and inspection processes.
• Familiarity with construction software such as Bluebeam, Procore, and similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects, site infrastructure, contractors, and real estate development to meet schedule and cost targets.
• Develop pre-construction strategies for entitlements and permits.
• Build relationships with City officials and AHJs to facilitate approvals.
• Collaborate with jurisdictions and legal teams to create drone-delivery pathways.
• Coordinate with customer real estate teams to integrate Zipline systems.
• Source and manage relationships with external stakeholders (jurisdictions, utilities, contractors).
• Identify and mitigate risks in pre-construction and construction phases.
• Engage with Real Estate and Government Affairs teams to align expectations and timelines.
• Manage general contractors and subs across trades during bid, pre-construction, and site commissioning.
