The North Carolina Department of Commerce is seeking a Community Development Planner II to serve as the primary liaison for Southeast region local governments. You will supervise the development and implementation of economic plans, lead a team in strategic planning, provide technical assistance, and guide grants and funding to rural communities to foster investment and job creation.

This home-based, full-time role requires travel and collaboration with state and local officials.

Responsabilités

• The position serves as the primary point of contact for local governments in the Southeast region of the state, supervising the development and implementation of economic development plans.
• Lead team member and conducts and facilitates strategic economic development planning, technical assistance and capacity building, training and education, and grant and funding guidance to all rural communities, towns, and counties in the Southeast region.
• Assist with improving efficiencies of the Rural Planning program, developing new tools, resources, and programming to increase investment, business growth, and job creation in designated program communities.
