Location: Home-based in the EMEA region (Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, UK). All candidates must be eligible to work in Europe. Please note that we do not offer relocation packages or visa support for this role.

We are seeking a Regional Chemicals Category Manager to join our European Specialties Procurement team. The candidate will be responsible for negotiating and managing regional and global direct chemical spend exceeding $80 million.

Main Responsibilities

1. Manage over $80MM in global and regional direct spend for chemical procurement.
2. Develop and execute sourcing strategies in collaboration with our global team to achieve cost savings and operational efficiencies.
3. Coordinate with R&D and manufacturing to manage portfolio changes for savings or innovation.
4. Identify and implement cost-saving projects that meet or surpass company objectives while ensuring reliable support.
5. Support cross-functional and multi-regional teams in new product development and launch planning for chemical innovations.
6. Manage supplier performance to meet service, performance, quality, cost, and sustainability metrics in partnership with Supply Chain.
7. Assist manufacturing locations with material shortages, quality issues, savings projects, network analysis, and new product introductions.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Sciences; a Master’s degree or Certified Purchasing Manager certification is a plus.
2. At least 7 years of experience in procurement, Supply Chain, or Product Management.
3. Experience with strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
4. Strong knowledge of chemistry and the chemical market is preferred.
5. Effective time management skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
6. Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
7. Working knowledge of SAP.
8. Proficient in English communication, both written and spoken.
9. Ability to lead projects and teams effectively to achieve outstanding results.
10. Remote work capability within Europe.
