Job summary

The Vincit Group is seeking a Regional Class A CDL Driver with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements to deliver dry van freight regionally. You will join trips with a mix of short and long distances, secure cargo, and ensure safe, timely deliveries while complying with DOT rules and company policies.

The position requires hazmat endorsement, TWIC or willingness to obtain, a clean motor vehicle record, and a HS diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• CDL-Class A with Hazmat endorsement required.
• TWIC card or willingness to obtain.
• DOT physical, drug screen, background check, and MVR acceptable.
• At least 25 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Deliver loads on time in a safe and efficient manner while obeying traffic laws and established procedures.
• Operate and maintain equipment and communicate with the Distribution Manager regarding instructions and vehicle status.
• Load or unload (50-100 lbs) using pallet jack or other equipment and manage portable pumping units.
• Follow all safety regulations, MSDS, and PPE requirements when working around chemicals.
• Drive tractors/trailers and securely cargo for transport, including heavy loads.
• Verify delivery instructions, routes, weights, and DOT classifications for accurate paperwork.
• Maintain driver logs, time and trip reports, and vehicle inspections per regulations.
• Stop at weighing stations and document weights to comply with state rules.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

• OTR 3 nights a week - Home 4 nights a week.
• Average Weekly Milage: 1500-2000 miles

JOB SUMMARY

Regional CDL Driver with HAZMAT endorsement, responsible for delivering dry van freight. The driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of the company’s chemical products to customers and distribution centers located in key areas to support our customer base on a regional level. Trips will be a combination of short and long distances, the driver must comply with Department of Transportation rules and regulations while maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Company policies and procedures.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required:

• Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement
• TWIC card or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass DOT requirements such as physical, drug screen, and background check as well as have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
• At least 25 years of age

EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

EXPERIENCE

Required: Proven safety record and stable work history

Essential Job Functions:

• Pick up and/or deliver the load on time in a safe and efficient manner while obeying traffic laws and following established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving practices and vehicle maneuvering skills to safely operate vehicles at varying speeds, in challenging conditions, including heavy traffic, inclement weather, and tight loading dock areas, while properly positioning vehicles and loading equipment for loading/unloading.
• Operate and maintain equipment, such as cab equipment to maintain contact with Distribution Manager to exchange necessary information, receive instructions, report vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations as well as tractor trailer servicing needs to ensure the vehicle is in good working order.
• Load or unload, or assists in loading/unloading truck ranging from 50-100 pounds, utilizing pallet jack or other equipment, and operate/maintain portable pumping units.
• Follow all safety regulations, MSDS, and PPE requirements, such as a full-face respirator, when working around chemicals.
• Ability to drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor trailer combinations, and properly secure cargo for transport.
• Verify delivery instructions, routes, weights, and DOT classifications to ensure accurate paperwork and safe, legal, on-time transport.
• Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.
• Maintains various required driver logs, time and trip reports, vehicle inspection reports, and expense reports, following applicable state and federal regulations.
• Stop at weighing stations before and after loads to document weights and comply with state regulations.
• Completes special projects upon requests, and other duties may be assigned.
