NPK International Inc. (NYSE: NPKI) is seeking a CDL A Truck Driver to operate tractor-trailers and transport a variety of products from the Schriever, LA area. You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, load and unload cargo, and maintain compliance with traffic laws and company policies.

The role may involve long distances, random schedules, and overtime when hauling. Expect to read bills of lading, document deliveries, and work with spotters as needed in a team setting.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 3 years of job-related experience recommended.
• Experience with lowboy preferred.
• Knowledge of regulations for transportation of products and materials.
• Must be able to drive 18-speed standard transmission with 40 flatbed trailers.

Aufgaben

• Safely operate trucks to deliver products according to schedule.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for safety.
• May be responsible for loading and unloading shipments.
• Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery documentation.
• Reads bill of lading to determine assignment and/or creates bill of lading and delivery ticket if needed.
• Inspects goods to be moved.
• May secure load to trailer wall using straps.
• Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products, maybe over long distance.
• Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from spotter as needed.
• May drive truck to weigh station before and after loading, and along route to document weight and conform to state regulations.
• Maintains driver log according to federal regulations.
• May work as member of two-person team driving tractor with sleeper bunk behind cab.
• Assists in other maintenance or production areas as required.
• Loads bulk and flatbed trucks as required.
• Performs other duties assigned by management.
