Job summary

O’Brien Steel Service Co. is seeking CDL drivers (Regional) to transport steel products by flatbed across the Midwest from Peoria, IL.

The role is employed by GTT, Inc., our transportation partner, with opportunities for home daily on regional routes and long-term, stable driving opportunities. You will use flatbeds, secure loads, and comply with DOT regulations while maintaining logs and delivering to a customer network.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A license is required.
• Clean driving record in accordance with DOT standards.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport steel products using flatbed trailers.
• Follow delivery routes and schedules for timely deliveries.
• Secure loads with chains, straps, and tarps.
• Maintain electronic driver logs (E-logs) in DOT compliance.
• Identify and report vehicle maintenance or safety issues.
• Ensure proper load weight distribution prior to departure.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections for safety.
