Job summary

The ThedaCare Cancer Center seeks an academically driven physician leader to serve as Research Medical Director, guiding research strategy across ThedaCare and Froedtert ThedaCare. This executive role blends clinical oversight, mentorship, and academic alignment with MCW, shaping a regional platform for community-based oncology research.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification in Hematology, Oncology, and/or Radiation Oncology.
• Administrative or leadership experience with program development and mentorship.
• Strong knowledge of clinical research processes and cooperative trial involvement.
• Prior PI or Site PI experience with ongoing industry/coop trials.
• Ability to prioritize research portfolios, ensure accrual, and uphold regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication, consensus-building, and relationship development.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a balanced, high-impact cancer clinical trial portfolio.
• Integrate research seamlessly into everyday cancer care across the enterprise.
• Strengthen regulatory, operational, and performance standards.
• Foster durable collaboration among ThedaCare, Froedtert, and MCW.
• Mentor investigators and build institutional capacity for academic-community partnerships.
