Job summary

Kent State University is seeking a Custodial Worker for the Ashtabula Campus to perform custodial duties and routine maintenance across regional campuses. The role reports to the Custodial Work Supervisor and is based at Ashtabula, OH with duties including floor care, cleaning, and setup for events.

The position requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, a valid Ohio driver’s license if required, and adherence to safety procedures. Schedule typically Mon–Fri, 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio driver’s license, if required by position.
• Knowledge of appropriate safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax floors and clean carpets.
• Dust, wax furniture and fixtures; shampoo upholstery; wash walls; clean glass and mirrors.
• Empty trash receptacles and maintain cleanliness of areas.
• Change light bulbs and clean light fixtures.
• Restrooms and showers cleaned; replenish supplies.
• Move and arrange furniture; set up rooms for events.
