Job summary

Thermal Economy in Olive Branch, Mississippi seeks a highly experienced Service Manager to lead our boiler and burner service department, overseeing maintenance, repair, and combustion optimization for watertube and firetube boilers. Ten-plus years of leadership in a related field are required.

You will drive technician development, support customers with advanced troubleshooting, and ensure timely invoicing and profitable operations across the service organization.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in a service or leadership role in a relevant industry.
• Proven leadership experience managing field teams or multi-site operations.
• Strong technical understanding of boiler/burner systems, combustion controls, and related equipment.
• Experience mentoring technicians and coordinating service operations.
• Willingness to act as regional service technician when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead field service teams: recruit, train, direct, schedule and mentor technicians.
• Oversee scheduling/dispatch for startups, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
• Provide expert guidance for burner, boiler, controls, and combustion issues.
• Ensure field activities comply with OSHA, NFPA, local codes and environmental requirements.
• Oversee field equipment, tools, training resources, and technician qualifications.
• Act as primary customer contact, resolve escalations, identify aftermarket opportunities.
• Monitor service performance, reporting compliance, technician utilization, and KPIs.
• Manage field scope changes, approvals, documentation and invoicing support.
• Support regional service activities as needed.
