Job summary

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) seeks a Behavioral Health Consultant OPS to work in the SunCoast Regional Office. This role focuses on identifying behavioral health issues in families involved with child welfare, with emphasis on opioid use and related disorders.

The position requires collaboration with CPIs, dependency case managers, and frontline staff to improve access to treatment and recovery supports.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a health or human services-related field.
• Three years of experience treating substance use disorders.
• Valid Class E Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise to identify behavioral health conditions in the child welfare system.
• Consult with CPIs and case managers to improve engagement and access to treatment.
• Educate staff on identification and best practices for opioid use and substance misuse disorders.
• Coordinate referrals, track entry into treatment, and support crisis mitigation.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and collaborate with community providers.
