Job Description Summary:

The Regional Account Manager is responsible for representing PTC's products to medical professionals specializing in neurological diseases and Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) within their assigned region. This role involves managing pharmaceutical sales operations, promoting clinical and economic benefits, building relationships, educating healthcare staff, and identifying growth opportunities. The manager collaborates with internal departments and external resources, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and SOPs.

Responsibilities:
  1. Achieve sales targets ethically, contributing to the metabolism business unit.
  2. Implement marketing strategies to meet sales and patient objectives for neurology and FA products.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams like Patient Services, Marketing, Managed Markets, and Medical Affairs.
  4. Develop partnerships with physicians and healthcare staff, understanding their needs and how PTC products can meet them.
  5. Identify treatment centers and work with stakeholders to optimize patient care.
  6. Maintain relationships with advocacy groups focused on patients and diseases.
  7. Use a consultative sales approach tailored to healthcare professionals treating neurological diseases and FA.
  8. Address product access and reimbursement issues.
  9. Build relationships with thought leaders in neurology and FA.
  10. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or healthcare preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare sales experience.
  • At least 3 years in rare disease or orphan drug sales, especially involving high-cost, specialized products.
  • Proven success in exceeding sales targets and managing territories.
  • Experience selling in clinics, hospitals, and academic centers.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and develop strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to travel extensively, including nights and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and insurance required.
  • Ability to access hospitals and medical facilities, meeting credentialing requirements.

*Preferred skills include experience with orphan, rare, or specialized drugs, and startup environments.

Travel: Up to 75%, including overnight trips.

Position Type: Field-based

Salary Range: $178,000 - $202,000, based on experience and internal considerations.
